A Beginner-Friendly Guide for TrueWeb Media Clients
1. Logging In to WordPress
To get started:
Visit:
yourwebsite.com/wp-adminUse the login info provided by TrueWeb Media.
Once logged in, you’ll be in the WordPress Dashboard.

2. WordPress Dashboard Overview
Here’s what you’ll typically see and use:
Pages – Standard website pages like Home, About, Contact.
Posts – For blog articles (if your site has a blog).
Media – All your uploaded images and files.
Custom Post Types – These could be:
Projects / Portfolio
Services
Testimonials
Team Members
(These vary depending on your site.)
💡 Don’t worry about posts vs custom post types. They all work the same way—just labeled differently.

3. Editing Pages with Elementor
Elementor is the visual builder used to design most parts of your site.
To edit a page:
Go to Pages > All Pages.
Hover over the page and click Edit with Elementor.
Elementor will open a live preview of your page.
Click on any text, image, or section to edit it.
Drag new elements in from the sidebar (like images, buttons, text).
Click the green Update button when done.
✅ Save regularly to avoid losing changes.

4. Editing Blog Posts or Custom Content
Depending on your site setup, you might see different sections in the left menu.
To edit a blog post:
Go to Posts > All Posts
Click a post to edit
Make your changes and click Update
To edit a custom post type (like Services or Portfolio):
Go to the relevant section in the dashboard (e.g., Services > All Services)
Click the item you want to change
Update the text, image, or content fields
Click Update to save
🛠 Some custom post types may use Elementor. If so, you’ll see “Edit with Elementor” as an option.

5. Adding New Content
You can add new content in most areas just like blog posts:
Add a new blog post:
Go to Posts > Add New
Add a title and content

Choose a Category or Tag
Click Publish
Add a new custom post:
Go to CPT > Add New (or whatever your post type is)
Fill in the title, content, and image fields
Click Publish

6. Uploading and Managing Images
To add or update images on your site:
Go to Media > Add New
Drag and drop images, or click to upload
You can reuse any uploaded image across pages and posts

Pick one from the Media Library or upload a new one

7. Updating Menus
Menus help visitors navigate your site.
To update your menu:

Choose the correct menu (e.g., Main Menu)
Add pages, posts, or custom links from the left panel
Drag to rearrange items
Click Save Menu
✅ Be careful not to remove existing links unless you’re sure.

Some global settings can be edited under:
Appearance > Customize – Change site name, logo, colors, or layout settings
Elementor > Site Settings – Edit fonts, buttons, headers, and footers (in some sites)
